The Challenge
For Qube Research & Technologies, the India Headquarters in Mumbai was never meant to be just a workplace. As a technology-led global investment firm, QRT operates at the intersection of financial precision and advanced technology. Its environment needed to mirror that intensity. Yet performance alone was not enough.
The firm envisioned a next-generation headquarters that could attract exceptional talent, support diverse working styles, enable seamless technology integration, and serve as a catalyst for strategy execution. At the same time, it had to feel warm, inclusive, and deeply connected to Mumbai, the city it calls home.
The central challenge was both strategic and cultural: how can a performance-driven financial workplace embody analytical rigor while celebrating creativity, community, and context? How can it feel disciplined yet alive, global in outlook yet unmistakably rooted in Mumbai?
Resolving this tension became the foundation of the design and build journey.

The Solution
Spread across 24,000 sq. ft. on the eighth floor of Godrej One in Vikhroli, the headquarters is shaped by the concept of Urban Terraces.
Inspired by Mumbai’s layered urban fabric, its resilience, diversity, and constant momentum, the workplace unfolds as a sequence of experiences rather than a static corporate floor. The design draws from the city’s terraces and mangroves, weaving nature, community, and architecture into a vibrant internal promenade where work, interaction, and pause coexist fluidly.
Planning plays a defining role in reinforcing both clarity and flow. The lift lobby acts as a central organizing spine, dividing the floor into two distinct yet connected zones. On one side, the arrival and formal areas create a strong first impression, anchored by a bold QRT identity, vibrant seating, and a welcoming coffee point. A sunlit boardroom blends formal functionality with Indian art and heritage, adding cultural depth without compromising professionalism. On the other side lies the social hub and primary workspaces, where energy, collaboration, and movement take precedence. This spatial clarity ensures intuitive wayfinding and balanced circulation, reflecting the precision of QRT’s business operations.
To support diverse work rhythms, the workspace offers a rich mix of seating typologies. Focus workstations with ergonomic, height-adjustable desks sit alongside agile workpoints, team tables, informal lounges, high tables, phone booths, and bookable one and two-person pods. Meeting rooms and huddle spaces are centrally positioned to define team neighborhoods while keeping interaction effortless. Employees are empowered with choice, able to transition seamlessly between deep concentration, collaboration, and social engagement throughout the day.
At the heart of the headquarters, the social hub and work café form a cultural anchor. Designed for flexibility, this space adapts easily from everyday interactions to townhalls and larger gatherings through movable furniture and integrated technology. It becomes the living core of the office, reinforcing community while enabling collective moments of alignment and celebration.
Materiality and environmental strategy further reinforce the balance between performance and comfort. Warm wood tones, textured surfaces, soft lighting, and carefully chosen accent colours create a calm yet dynamic atmosphere. Biophilic elements and green pockets inspired by Mumbai’s mangroves promote well-being and environmental harmony. Abundant natural light and column-free planning enhance spatial continuity, while durable, easy-to-maintain materials ensure long-term functionality. Inclusion and accessibility are embedded into the design, making the space welcoming and comfortable for everyone.

The QRT India Headquarters transcends the conventional office to become a vibrant ecosystem, one that nurtures innovation, strengthens community, and reflects the firm’s forward-looking vision. The workplace successfully reconciles its original challenge by aligning analytical performance with human experience. It supports strategic execution through clarity and structure, while offering warmth, flexibility, and cultural resonance. Employees feel connected not only to the brand but also to the city and to each other. Focus and collaboration coexist. Discipline and creativity operate in tandem.
