work environment had become fragmented, outdated, and costly to maintain
The Challenge
Mann+Hummel, a Europe headquartered global leader in filtration systems for air, water, mobility, and industry, faced a defining workplace challenge in Bangalore. After nearly a decade across multiple offices, the work environment had become fragmented, outdated, and costly to maintain. More importantly, it no longer reflected the brand’s core promise of purity and life enhancement.
The existing spaces reinforced a private territory culture through large L shaped workstations and cubicles, limiting collaboration and visibility. Teams operated in silos, and the workplace failed to inspire pride or support evolving ways of working.
As Mann+Hummel prepared to scale rapidly from 100 to over 550 employees, leadership recognised that the office needed to do more than house people. It needed to consolidate teams, strengthen brand identity, and function as a strategic tool for talent attraction, retention, and future growth.

creating a unified, future ready workplace that could reflect Mann+Hummel’s purpose and support long term growth
The Solution
The design and build strategy addressed a single core issue: fragmentation of space, culture, and brand expression. Every decision was anchored to creating a unified, future ready workplace that could reflect Mann+Hummel’s purpose and support long term growth.
Strategic consolidation of teams
All Bangalore operations were brought together at Brigade Twin Towers, spanning two floors, restoring synergy that was missing in the earlier multi office setup.
Shift from private territory to shared neighborhoods
The legacy cubicle driven layout was replaced with department based neighborhoods planned around functional adjacencies, improving visibility and interaction.
Collaboration embedded into daily work
Spill over areas, quick discussion zones, and a flexible cafeteria were integrated to encourage informal conversations and faster decision making.
Design concept rooted in purity
Guided by the Japanese philosophy of Seiso, filtration was interpreted as a spatial journey from industrial to pristine, expressed through material transitions and a green to grey palette.
Technology aligned with brand performance
Feature lighting inspired by water ripple effects, occupancy sensors, air quality monitors, and sensor based fixtures reinforced sustainability and brand values.
Wellness and sustainability integrated by design
The project is pursuing LEED Gold certification, incorporating natural light, biophilic elements, waste segregation systems, and a dedicated wellness room.
Art as brand storytelling
A living green wall anchors reception, while environmental graphics inspired by natural terrains transform technical identity into a sensory, human centred experience.
