Nestlé, a global food and beverage giant, faced the challenge of aligning its workplace with the new post-pandemic work dynamics and encouraging a return to the office. In a significant overhaul of their 'nest' situated in an iconic building, Nestlé aimed to create a workspace that not only reflected its brand values and culture but also adapted to diverse working styles.

Departing from the conventional one-size-fits-all open office concept, the objective was to foster a community-oriented and inclusive environment. Nestlé sought to translate its core principles of contemplating, collaborating, communicating, and concentrating (4Cs) into a purposeful and modern work setting.

Space Matrix took on the task of redefining Nestlé’s workspace, executing a thorough transformation of the office design concept. The journey began at the reception area, where a circular column was artfully designed to emulate a majestic tree, symbolising Nestlé’s 'tree of life.' This architectural element not only heightened the spatial aesthetics but also served as a captivating introduction to the workplace for both employees and visitors.

Moving through the workspace, a unique feature known as the 'Machan' was introduced. This structure extended the work floor and offered a balcony-like experience, overlooking a triple-height business garden and serving as a viewing gallery for collaborative activities.

The heart of the redesign was the business garden, which surrounded each work floor with lush greenery. This harmonious blend of nature with the office interior design blurred the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, promoting mindfulness and wellbeing. The business garden also doubled as a Town Hall for collaboration, incorporating nature-inspired elements for a serene atmosphere. The layout, strategically positioned at the end of each work floor, offered a range of seating options, such as swings and fluidic-shaped tables, promoting comfort and choice for employees. This design encouraged diverse teams to connect, facilitating conversations essential for innovation and growth.

The result was a modern workspace that now provides an inviting ambience for creative minds to relax and engage with one another. This transformation reflects Nestlé's commitment to fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and growth within its corporate culture. It not only serves as a space for work but also as a community hub where employees from various verticals can come together, share ideas, and fuel innovation.
